##### We are hiring! Junior data & science analyst

ScoutinScience is expanding and looking for a data & science analyst (8-16 hrs/ week). 

Our mission is to double technology transfer by 2050. We believe every innovation can profoundly impact society and are dedicated to realising this potential. Our AI platform automatically scouts and qualifies scientific publications, using state-of-the-art natural language processing models, for their tech-transfer potential. The ranked results are provided in an online dashboard and enable research institutions to maximize the impact of research, increase deal flow and identify partnership opportunities.
 
##### The role 

As a junior analyst, you are an integral part of the team that is responsible for providing input to the R&D/ AI development team. You are part of the project team, responsible for analyzing scientific papers and ranking them on business potential. Moreover, you’ll provide insight into why papers are considered impactful. 

##### Who are you?

- A student looking for a growth opportunity
- Interest in technology is a must. We are not per se seeking technological experts/students but are working with all technical universities in the Netherlands and (soon in) Europe. 
- A technical background is a prerequisite
- You have a critical thinking and an analytical mindset
- You are willing to join a fast-growing and dynamic start-up. 
- Your daily tasks will mainly be carried out using the [ScoutinScience dashboard](https://dashboard.scoutinscience.com/demo)

Junior Data Analyst

## Senior Platform Engineer (Data & Distributed Systems) | Full-time
ScoutinScience is building a large-scale scientific intelligence platform powered by big data, distributed systems, and modern AI services. We are looking for an experienced Senior Platform Engineer to help design and build the core platform that powers our data pipelines, APIs, and scalable infrastructure.
You will work on a complex microservices architecture handling large volumes of structured and unstructured data, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability across the platform.
## What you will work on
Design and build scalable backend services and APIs
Develop and maintain data infrastructure for large-scale datasets
Build microservices and event-driven systems
Design efficient data models and optimize database performance
Contribute to platform architecture and infrastructure decisions
Ensure reliability, scalability, and maintainability of the system
## Tech stack
### Backend
-  Python (FastAPI, async/await, Pydantic)
-  and/or
- C# (.NET 8, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core)
### Data & Messaging
- PostgreSQL
- MongoDB
- Kafka (aiokafka or Confluent.Kafka)
### Infrastructure
- Microservices architecture
- REST APIs
- JWT authentication
- Object storage (AWS S3 or similar)
- Container-based deployments
## What we are looking for
- Strong experience building large platforms with significant data processing requirements
- Experience designing scalable backend systems and data infrastructure
- Comfortable working across backend, databases, and infrastructure
- Strong ownership mindset and pragmatic engineering approach
- Someone who is comfortable working from the office on a regular basis
