Processing of personal data ScoutinScience B.V. processes your personal data because you use our services and/or because you provide us with this data yourself.

ScoutinScience B.V. processes your personal data for the following purposes: Offering you the opportunity to create an account
As a user you have the possibility to share multiple personal data with us in your profile. The reason for being able to share this data is functional. For example, our applications can be used to search for opportunities for valorization using 'big data'.
As a user, you are part of a community. It may be that the administrator of the community requires its users to share certain data. Agreements about this are made between the user(s) and the relevant community administrator.
Automated decision-making ScoutinScience B.V. does not make decisions about issues that can (significantly) affect people based on automated processing. These are decisions made by computer programs or systems, without a human being (for example an employee of ScoutinScience B.V.) being involved.
Storage of personal data ScoutinScience B.V. will not store your personal data longer than strictly necessary to realize the purposes for which your data is collected. We apply the following retention periods for the following (categories) of personal data: First and last name, e-mail address: the data will be kept for 2 years after deactivation of the account. The reason for this is that our clients may have to deal with inspections/ accreditations.
Sharing personal data with third parties ScoutinScience B.V. will not sell your data to third parties and will only share it with third parties if this is necessary for the execution of our agreement with you or to comply with a legal obligation. We will sign a processing agreement with companies that process your data on our behalf, in order to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality of your data. ScoutinScience B.V. remains responsible for this processing. Personal data will not be shared outside the EU.
Cookies, or similar techniques, that we use ScoutinScience B.V. mainly uses technical and functional cookies. For analytical cookies we use Plausible. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer, tablet or smartphone when you first visit this website. The cookies we use are necessary for the technical operation of the website and your convenience. They ensure that the website works properly and remember, for example, your preferences. They also allow us to optimize our website. You can disable cookies by configuring your internet browser so that it does not store cookies anymore. In addition, you can delete all information previously stored via your browser settings.
Marketing activities: We use your information for marketing activities. These activities include: Using your contact information to send you regular news about updates of the dashboard, science news, and industry events. You can unsubscribe from email marketing communications quickly, easily and at any time. All you need to do is click on the ‘Unsubscribe’ link included in each email or email us directly.
View, modify or remove data You have the right to view, correct or delete your personal data. You can do this yourself via the personal settings of your account.
In addition, you have the right to withdraw your consent for the data processing or object to the processing of your personal data by our company and you have the right to data portability. This means that you can request us to send the personal data we have about you in a computer file to you or another organization named by you.
If you wish to exercise your right to object and/or right of data portability or if you have any other questions/comments about the data processing, please send a specified request to the Data Protection Officer or to gilles@scoutinscience.com.
To make sure that the request is made by you, we ask you to send a copy of your identity document with the request. Make in this copy your passport photo, MRZ (machine readable zone, the strip with numbers at the bottom of the passport), passport number and Citizen Service Number (BSN) black. This is to protect your privacy. ScoutinScience B.V. will respond to your request as soon as possible, but in any case within four weeks.

How we secure personal data ScoutinScience B.V. takes the protection of your data seriously and takes appropriate measures to prevent abuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorized changes. If you feel that your data is not properly protected or there are indications of abuse, please contact our customer service or via info@scoutinscience.com.
