Beyond Scouting: The Full Innovation Lifecycle for Universities

Universities face growing pressure to demonstrate the real-world impact of their research, and the path from publication to patent, partnership, or startup is often unclear and fragmented. At ScoutinScience, we help universities bridge that gap by turning dormant academic insights into concrete, scalable opportunities for innovation.

Step 1

Onboarding, Goal Setting, & Data Collection

We begin by defining the scope tailored to your university’s innovation ambitions. Whether you’re aiming to drive more startups, IP output, or industry partnerships, we work closely with your internal teams to define success.  During this phase, we also begin automatically gathering relevant data such as publications and grants from public sources. Where applicable, we integrate our platform with your internal systems or databases to enrich the insights and ensure a seamless setup. This step is critical to ensuring our solution provides the flexibility and precision necessary to support your innovation tracking and intellectual property (IP) management requirements effectively.

AI-analytics

We assess the commercial potential of scientific research by analyzing a range of indicators such as sentiment, authorship, domain relevance, and alignment with market needs. This helps identify research that is more likely to attract funding, lead to patents, or translate into successful products or services.

Step 2

Scouting and Screening

We apply our proprietary AI models to classify and evaluate research outputs. Each innovation is scored based on business potential, Technology Readiness Level, and alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals.  This step results in a curated list of high-potential research leads and the identification of different research impact pathways.

Step 3

Proactive Outreach and Launchpad

Identified opportunities are not just documented. We act on them.  Together, we contact researchers and relevant stakeholders to initiate next steps. This activates our launchpad phase, where opportunities begin transitioning toward spin-offs, grant opportunities, partnerships, or IP creation.

Step 4

Support programs

To ensure successful outcomes, we offer a range of support services tailored to universities:

Our mentors guide academics and students through ideation, market validation, and venture basics, equipping them with the skills and mindset to turn research insights into viable start-ups and investor-ready projects.

Strategic Insights and Reporting

Each quarter, we deliver an in-depth report that supports strategic decision-making and showcases innovation progress. Insight include:
