Full-Stack Software Developer

ScoutinScience is expanding and looking for a full-stack Software Engineer. (full-time)

Our mission is to double technology transfer by 2050. We believe every innovation can profoundly impact society and are dedicated to realising this potential. Our AI platform automatically scouts and qualifies scientific publications, using state-of-the-art natural language processing models, for their tech-transfer potential. The ranked results are provided in an online dashboard and enable research institutions to maximize the impact of research, increase deal flow and identify partnership opportunities.

Responsibilities

Develop and ship new features for a dashboard web application, ensuring high performance, scalability, and user experience.
Participate in the maintenance of current software, including bug fixes, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
Write clean, maintainable, and testable code in various programming languages, including TypeScript, Python, and relevant frameworks.
Take ownership of assigned tasks and projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project timelines.
Occasionally, participate in projects where the development of Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) is required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in approach.

Requirements

Experience in backend development using C# and ASP.NET, with a strong understanding of MVC pattern and Entity Framework or similar technologies, as well as proficiency in backend development using Python, particularly with frameworks like FastAPI.
Experience in frontend development, using React with Typescript or equivalent technologies to create dynamic and intuitive user interfaces.
Experience with relational and document databases, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar, and ability to optimize database queries and performance.
Strong understanding of Microservices architecture, REST API design principles, and software testing methodologies.

Nice to have

Experience with DevOps tools such as GitHub Actions and Docker
Experience with web scraping techniques and tools
Interest in Machine Learning and Data Analysis, especially NLP tools
