##### We are hiring! Junior data & science analyst

ScoutinScience is expanding and looking for a data & science analyst (8-16 hrs/ week). 

Our mission is to double technology transfer by 2050. We believe every innovation can profoundly impact society and are dedicated to realising this potential. Our AI platform automatically scouts and qualifies scientific publications, using state-of-the-art natural language processing models, for their tech-transfer potential. The ranked results are provided in an online dashboard and enable research institutions to maximize the impact of research, increase deal flow and identify partnership opportunities.
 
##### The role 

As a junior analyst, you are an integral part of the team that is responsible for providing input to the R&D/ AI development team. You are part of the project team, responsible for analyzing scientific papers and ranking them on business potential. Moreover, you’ll provide insight into why papers are considered impactful. 

##### Who are you?

- A student looking for a growth opportunity
- Interest in technology is a must. We are not per se seeking technological experts/students but are working with all technical universities in the Netherlands and (soon in) Europe. 
- A technical background is a prerequisite
- You have a critical thinking and an analytical mindset

**Jouw rol**
In deze rol ben je verantwoordelijk voor het genereren van nieuwe leads, het onderhouden van relaties en het succesvol afronden van commerciële trajecten. Je weet hoe je complexe diensten en technologieën vertaalt naar concrete klantwaarde en voelt je thuis in de wereld van innovatie, tech transfer en valorisatie.


**Wat ga je doen?**
- Consultative selling toepassen om klantbehoeften scherp te analyseren en passende oplossingen te presenteren
- Actief benaderen van potentiële klanten via outreach en cold calling
- Opstellen en begeleiden van offertetrajecten binnen (semi)publieke organisaties
- Uitwerken van offertes en voorstellen die overtuigen
- Organiseren en geven van demo’s en klantintroducties
- Beheren van het CRM-systeem en opvolgen van leads
- Nauw samenwerken met het team om technologie, data en marktinzichten te vertalen naar commerciële kansen

**Relevante werkervaring:**
- Commerciële functie bij subsidieadviesbureaus met ervaring in innovatieregelingen
- Werkzaam geweest in sales in de (semi)pubieke sector in dienstverlening

**Wat breng je mee?**
- Affiniteit met innovatie, wetenschap en technologie
- Minimaal enkele jaren ervaring in een scale-up of dynamische omgeving
- Academisch werk- en denkniveau
- Ervaring met offertetrajecten richting (semi)publieke organisaties
- Ervaring met valorisatie en/of tech transfer is een sterke pre
- Uitstekende communicatieve vaardigheden in zowel Nederlands als Engels

**Your Role**
In this role, you will be responsible for generating new leads, maintaining relationships, and successfully closing commercial deals. You know how to translate complex services and technologies into clear customer value and feel at home in the world of innovation, tech transfer, and knowledge valorisation.


**What You’ll Do**
- Apply consultative selling to understand customer needs and offer tailored solutions
- Actively reach out to potential clients via outreach and cold calling
- Draft and guide quotation processes for (semi-)public organizations
- Create compelling offers and proposals
- Organize and lead demos and client introductions
- Manage the CRM system and follow up on leads
- Collaborate closely with the team to translate technology, data, and market insights into commercial opportunities

**Relevant work experience:**
- Commercial position at a subsidy advisory firm with experience in innovation funding
- Worked in sales in the (semi-)public sector in services

**What You Bring**
- Affinity with innovation, science, and technology
- A few years of experience in a scale-up or dynamic environment
- Academic working and thinking level
- Experience with quotation processes for (semi-)public organizations
- Experience with valorisation and/or tech transfer is a strong plus

Partnering with Technology Transfer Offices (TTOs), governmental agencies, and investors worldwide, we are at the forefront of bridging the gap between innovation and commercialisation.

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer (2 to 5 years) with a builder mindset to take ownership of our technical infrastructure and contribute across our full technology stack. You will work closely with our existing team in a hands-on development role.

📍On-site (Enschede) or hybrid
🕐 Employment: Full-time

**What you’ll do**

**Full-stack development**
• Maintain and extend the ScoutinScience Dashboard (ASP.NET, PostgreSQL, React)
• Maintain and extend our Python-based ETL pipelines
• Prototype and develop new product MVPs

**Infrastructure ownership**
• Take charge of on-premise servers and deployments

**System reliability**
• Monitor production systems and optimise performance

**Must-have qualifications**
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
• Two to five (2-5) years of experience with a proven track record of building projects from scratch
• Full-stack expertise in ASP.NET, Python, PostgreSQL, and React (or similar frameworks)
• Exposure to infrastructure maintenance, including deployment systems, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), server management, and Docker/containerization

**Nice to have**
• Experience in a startup environment
• Background in machine learning
• Strong communication and collaboration across departments and teams
